Privacy policy
How Vet Figure handles data across the website, mobile app, optional accounts and support.
Effective 3 September 2026. The offline formulary and calculator do not require an account. Vet Figure does not sell personal data, run advertising profiles, or use your calculations to train AI models.
Who we are and how to contact us
Vet Figure is an Ireland-based veterinary knowledge and product-information service. Vet Figure is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email ezvetapp@gmail.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers vetfigure.com, the Vet Figure iOS and Android apps, optional Vet Figure accounts and sync, support and correction requests, and the Digital Clinic interest list. Vet Figure is a reference and decision-support service, not a veterinary practice or patient-record system.
Website and offline app use
You can browse the formulary and use the calculator without giving us your name, email address or animal details. The app stores favourites and up to 100 recent calculations locally on your device. This local information is not sent to Vet Figure unless you choose to create an account and enable sync. Do not enter a client name, owner name, patient identifier or other personal or special-category data into calculator fields.
Optional accounts and sync
If you create an account, we collect the email address you provide, authentication records and identifiers, and the favourites and calculation-history records you choose to synchronise. We collect these details directly from you and from your use of the sync feature. We use them to authenticate you, provide cross-device sync, protect the account and respond to account support requests. The account and sync service is optional; the core offline app works without it.
Catalogue updates, security and technical logs
When the website or app requests public catalogue data or a software update, our hosting, database and app-update providers may process limited technical request information. This can include an IP address, request time, operating system, app or update identifier, a random installation token, device or browser type, and error information. We use it only to deliver updates, protect the service from misuse, diagnose faults and maintain reliability. The current app does not include an advertising SDK or a third-party behavioural-analytics SDK.
App Store purchases and Apple diagnostics
Apple processes an iOS purchase under its own terms and privacy policy. The Vet Figure app does not collect your payment-card details. Apple provides developers with sales and financial reports. If you choose to share analytics or crash information with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may also make diagnostic information available to Vet Figure under Apple's privacy terms.
Support, corrections and other messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content and attachments you send. We use them to answer the request, investigate a reported problem or correction, and keep an appropriate record of the outcome. Please do not send client, owner or patient information. The website does not currently use a general support contact form.
Digital Clinic interest list
If you join the Digital Clinic interest list, we store the email you submit, a normalised copy used to prevent duplicates, the consent wording version, the time of consent and the page it came from. We use this information only with your consent for Digital Clinic availability and product updates. It is not added to a general newsletter or used to build an advertising profile.
Why we are allowed to use personal data
We process optional account and sync data to provide the service you request; security and limited technical logs for our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable service; messages to respond to your request and maintain the integrity of the catalogue; Digital Clinic interest data with your consent; and records where necessary to comply with a legal obligation. We do not use formulary browsing or calculations for advertising or AI-model training.
Storage, security and international transfers
Private account and sync data is stored in a managed EU-hosted database and protected by authentication and row-level access controls. Published catalogue files are public. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Some providers or their support operations may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where GDPR requires it, that processing must be covered by an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer safeguard.
How long we keep information
Local favourites remain until you remove them or clear or uninstall the app; local history keeps only the latest 100 calculations unless you clear it sooner. Account and synced data remains while the account is active and is deleted when you complete in-app account deletion, subject to short-lived security logs, backups and records we must keep by law. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and document the enquiry. Active Digital Clinic interest records remain until you withdraw consent or the programme closes; a minimal suppression record may be retained where needed to honour an opt-out. Technical logs follow the limited security and backup cycles of the relevant provider.
Your choices, deletion and GDPR rights
You can use the core app without an account. You can remove individual favourites or history entries, clear local history, and permanently delete an account and its cloud-synced data from Settings → Account and sync in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from that device but does not delete an optional account. You can change Apple diagnostics sharing in your device settings. You may also ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable; object to certain processing; or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email ezvetapp@gmail.com. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, website or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain at this URL and will show its effective date. If a change materially affects an account feature, we may also notify you in the app or ask you to review it again.
